This is my sleeping container, hanged from the
cage ceiling. It's usually Koyuki's favourite sleeping area, because it's
cosy, warm and dark. At the moment it fits two rats (just about).
This is the Wodent Wheel, which I have not quite
mastered yet how to use it. It's Sayuri and Koyuki's favourite toy, speeding
day and night. The wheel is about 12" in diameter, rather big but just
about fits in the bottom of our parrot cage. That's how a rat wheel is
supposed to be. It's such a safe wheel because our foot and tail don't
get caught in the wireframe.
This is more of a classic type of the log house,
which we inherited from Miyuki & Fuyume. They certainly had a
good chew! It's such tough wood and it doesn't absorb the urine smell either.
It also has two little windows on either side which we can squeeze though.
The tube here is just an ordinary hard plastic
join tube. No hidden room or secret passage to where Meg hides our
treats... but hours of fun!
The
yellow and oragen wooden pieces are our gnawing sticks. Rats need to gnaw
on hard objects because out teeth continuously grow. Over grown teeth can
be trimmed by experienced vet technitians, but when you think of the hussle,
it's better to have the gnawing sticks!!! The one in the middle is out
food bowl and the one on the right is our water bottle. The water is changed
every day.
